한국의 전통 나전칠기 기법을 활용하여 광복 태극기 리디자인을 진행했습니다. 일제강점기의 어두운 환경을 태극의 빛으로 밝히며 광복의 기쁨을 맞이하고, 한국의 단청 무늬와 길조와 번영을 상징하는 봉황을 함께 드로잉하여 아름다운 대한민국을 되찾은 의미를 한 번 더 상기시킵니다.

This work reimagines the Liberation Taegukgi using the traditional Korean craft of najeonchilgi (mother of pearl inlay lacquer).

The bright Taegeuk symbol shines through the darkness of the Japanese occupation, celebrating the moment of liberation.

Incorporating motifs from Korean dancheong patterns and the phoenix a symbol of good fortune and prosperity the design honors the return of a beautiful and sovereign Korea, reminding us once more of the meaning of liberation.
