태극기가 담고 있는 여러 상징 중, 저는 ‘조화와 균형’이라는 정신에 집중했습니다. 이 작업은 곡선을 배제하고, 선(線)만으로 태극기를 재구성한 작품입니다.하나의 선은 하나의 정신을 뜻하며, 각기 다른 방향의 선들이 조화를 이루어 지금의 대한민국을 만들어냈다는 의미를 담고 있습니다. 수많은 세대를 거쳐 내려온 굳건한 의지와 노력, 그 정신들이 연결되어 오늘의 우리가 존재합니다. 이 태극기는 그 정신을 잊지 않고 살아가겠다는 다짐을 담아 제작하였습니다.

Among the many symbols within the Taegukgi, I chose to focus on the spirit of harmony and balance. This work reconstructs the flag using only lines completely excluding curves. Each line represents a singular conviction, and together, lines in different directions symbolize the collective spirit that shaped the Korea we know today. It is through the enduring will and efforts passed down across generations that we exist in this present moment. This Taegukgi is a personal vow to live without forgetting that spirit.
