1945년 8월 15일 광복절을 기념하며 디자인된 이번 태극기 리디자인 포스터는 1910년대부터 해방 전 1940년대까지 조국 독립을 위해 몸 바쳐 싸운 무장투쟁 독립단체들의 숭고한 정신과 헌신을 표현하고자 했습니다. 포스터 속 태극기는 희미하게 표현되어, 나라를 빼앗긴 설움 속에서도 굴하지 않고 행동으로 저항했던 선조들의 깊은 한과 뜨거운 분노, 그리고 자유를 향한 꺾이지 않는 의지, 나아가 독립을 향한 간절한 염원을 담아냈습니다. 오늘날 우리가 누리는 자유가 결코 쉽게 얻어진 것이 아님을 상기시키며, 선열들의 숭고한 희생을 기리고자 하는 주제로 작업되었습니다.

This redesigned Taegukgi poster commemorates Korea’s Liberation Day, August 15, 1945.

It pays tribute to the noble spirit and sacrifice of the armed independence groups who fought for national liberation from the 1910s through the 1940s.

The Taegukgi depicted in the poster is rendered faintly symbolizing the sorrow of a nation robbed of its sovereignty, yet also the unyielding resistance of those who rose in defiance.

It reflects the deep seated grief and fiery anger of our forebears, their unwavering will for freedom, and their desperate yearning for independence.

Through this work, we are reminded that the freedom we enjoy today was not easily won.

It stands as a tribute to the profound sacrifices of those who came before us.
