광복이라니! 빨간 원을 찢고, 그 반쪽을 파란색 물건들로 채웁니다.

내 방에 있는 건 파란 스티커와 파란 머리의 하치와레 인형뿐이지만...

어린 독립운동가 학생들이 품었던 용기를 생각하면 경이롭기만 합니다.

내 방의 파란색 물건들은, 그들의 용기를 오늘로 이어가는 매개이자

그들이 지금 시대의 학생이었다면 가장 학생 답게 표현했을 태극기에 대한 상상입니다.

Liberation, what a word!

I tear apart the red circle, and fill its missing half with blue things from my room.

All I have are some blue stickers and a blue-haired Hachiwara doll…

But when I think of the courage held by young student independence fighters, I can’t help but be in awe.

The blue objects in my room become a bridge carrying their bravery into the present.

They are also my own imagined version of the Taegukgi, one that those students might have created, in the most student-like way, if they were living today.
