태극기는 우주의 원리를 담은 기호에 기반해 그려집니다. 주권을 되찾은 우리나라를 순수와 자연, 그리고 조화를 의미하는 기호들을 활용해 지도로 표현했습니다. 태극 문양과 건곤감리를 형태소로 해체하고, 이를 방위표, 해안선 등 지도의 요소로 재구성했습니다. 각 요소가 상징하는 바를 유추하며 우리의 터전을 다시금 바라보고, 태극기와 광복의 의미를 되새기길 기대합니다.

The Taegukgi is based on symbols that reflect the principles of the universe.

This artwork reimagines Korea reborn as a sovereign nation through a map composed of symbols representing purity, nature, and harmony.

The Taegeuk emblem and the four trigrams (Geon, Gon, Gam, Ri) are deconstructed into morphemes and reassembled as cartographic elements such as compass roses and coastlines.

By interpreting the symbolic meanings of each component, the viewer is invited to rediscover the land we call home and to reflect on the deeper significance of the Taegukgi and Korea’s liberation.
