‘태극의 조화와 진리’는 수많은 국민들의 희생을 통해 이루어진 광복인 만큼, 더욱 평화롭고 행복한 대한민국이 되길 바란다는 의미를 담아 만들었습니다. 태극기의 태극문양과 4괘는 “우주 만물이 음양의 상호 작용에 의해 생성되고 변화하며, 이를 통해 발전한다”는 대자연의 진리를 형상화한 모양입니다. 이러한 모양에는 우주와 더불어 끝없이 창조와 번영을 희구하는 한민족의 이상을 담고 있으며, 민족의 화합과 통일, 인류의 행복과 평화에 이바지해야 한다는 뜻을 지니고 있습니다. 작품에서는 음과 양을 나타내는 단어들을 태극의 모양으로 만든 뒤 사방으로 배열했으며, 4괘를 융화시켜 하나의 형태로 만들어 ‘조화와 진리’를 표현했습니다. 하나가 된 모습을 통해 태극기가 지닌 이상과 뜻을 강조하며, 우리 민족이 이루어낸 광복 80주년의 역사를 되새기고자 했습니다.

“The Harmony and Truth of Taegeuk” was created with the hope that the hard-won liberation achieved through the sacrifices of countless Koreans will lead to a more peaceful and joyful Korea. The Taegeuk symbol and four trigrams of the Taegukgi represent the fundamental truth of the universe: all things are born, transformed, and advanced through the dynamic interplay of yin and yang.

This form reflects the ideals of the Korean people, who seek continuous creation and prosperity in harmony with the universe.

It also conveys a commitment to national unity, reunification, and contributing to the peace and happiness of humanity.

In this work, words representing yin and yang are arranged in the form of the Taegeuk and extended in all directions.

The four trigrams are unified into a single shape, expressing the concepts of harmony and truth.

Through this unified form, the piece highlights the ideals embedded in the Taegukgi and commemorates the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation.
