아름다운 태극기의 원형을 충실히 따르면서도, 광복 80주년이라는 의미 있는 해를 강조하고자 했습니다. 중앙에 배치된 세 개의 원은 전체적으로 숫자 80을 연상시키도록 구성되었으며, 상단과 하단의 원 사이에는 태극의 물결 형태를 남겨 태극기의 원형과의 연결성을 이어갑니다. 하단에 위치한 두 개의 청색 원은 무한대(∞) 기호를 형상화한 것으로, 80주년을 넘어 앞으로도 이어질 대한민국의 무궁한 발전을 기원하는 의미를 담고 있습니다. 장식적인 요소는 최소화하고, 형태 자체의 상징성을 통해 메시지를 전달하고자 했습니다. 작품의 제목인 ‘무궁한’은 독립운동 시기, 영원한 번영과 인내의 상징으로 자리했던 대한민국의 국화 무궁화에서 착안했습니다.

While faithfully following the original circular form of the beautiful Taegeukgi, this work aims to highlight the significance of the 80th anniversary of Liberation.

The three circles placed in the center are arranged to evoke the number 80, and between the upper and lower circles, a wave-like form reminiscent of the Taegeuk is drawn to maintain continuity with the flag’s original structure.

The two blue circles at the bottom represent the infinity symbol (∞), expressing a wish for Korea’s boundless growth beyond the 80th year of liberation.

Ornamental elements were minimized to let the symbolic nature of the shapes convey the message.

The title, “Mugunghan” (Endless), was inspired by Korea’s national flower, the Mugunghwa (rose of Sharon), which during the independence movement stood as a symbol of eternal prosperity and resilience.
