광복 80주년을 맞아, 말 그대로 ‘빛을 되찾은 날’(光復)이라는 의미를 온전히 담아낸 작품입니다. 태극 문양이 하나의 등불이 되어 세상을 비추는 구성은 우리가 되찾은 빛의 소중함과 그 의미를 다시금 일깨워 줍니다. 이 기회를 통해 일제의 무단 침탈로 막막하고 어두웠던 상황 속에서도 투쟁과 독립운동을 통해 빛을 되찾아낸 선조들을 기릴 수 있기를 바랍니다.

This poster was designed to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Gwangbok, which literally means ‘the restoration of light’ in Korean. Inspired by the idea that Korea regained its light after years of darkness under Japanese colonial rule, the poster depicts the Taegeuk symbol as a glowing lantern illuminating the world to convey the preciousness of the light we reclaimed. Through this work, I hope people will honour those who fought for Korea’s independence and feel inspired to cherish and carry forward the light they restored for us.
