이 작업은 광복 80주년을 맞아, 태극기의 조형 요소를 해체하고 다시 조립하는 과정을 통해 새로운 시각적 언어를 제안합니다. 태극기는 하나의 선언입니다.또, 방향을 가리키는 지침이며, 미래를 꿈꾸는 예언이기도 합니다. 시간 속에 이어져온 그 결의를 새로운 조형 문법으로 다시 짜보았습니다. 디자인의 방법론 자체가 곧 정체성을 형성하는 언어가 되기를 바라며, 해체되며 조립되고, 교차되며 진해지는 과정을 통해 새로운 민족성, 앞으로의 ‘한국’에 대한 해석을 담아냈습니다.

This work, created to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation, deconstructs and reconstructs the visual elements of the Taegeukgi to propose a new visual language. The Taegeukgi is a declaration a compass pointing in a direction, and a prophecy dreaming of the future. This piece rewrites that enduring spirit through a contemporary design grammar. Through processes of deconstruction and reassembly, intersection and deepening, it seeks to embody a new sense of national identity an evolving interpretation of what “Korea” means today and into the future.
