이 작품은 2025년 광복 80주년을 기념하여, 태극기를 현대적인 시각언어로 재구성한 리디자인입니다. 1945년의 광복으로부터 시작된 독립과 자유의 시간은 멈추지 않았으며, 앞으로도 지속되어야 함을 시각적으로 표현하였습니다. 태극기의 중심에는 숫자 ‘8’을 상징하는 형태를 배치하여, 8월 15일 광복의 의미를 명확히 전달함과 동시에, 무한대(∞)를 닮은 형상을 통해 광복의 정신이 끊임없이 이어져야 함을 시각화 하였습니다. 또한, 건곤감리 네 괘를 시계의 시침과 분침을 연상시키는 형상으로 새롭게 재해석하여, 8시 15분을 상징적으로 가리키도록 구성하였습니다. 우측 상단에는 오방색 중 세 가지 색(황, 적, 청)를 표현해 한국 전통 색채의 조화를 담아내며, 민족 정체성과 생명력을 시각적으로 강조하는 요소로 작용합니다.

This work, created to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Korean Liberation in 2025, is a modern reinterpretation of the Taegukgi using a contemporary visual language.

It expresses the idea that the time of independence and freedom, which began with liberation in 1945, has not stopped and must continue into the future.

At the center of the Taegukgi design lies a form symbolizing the number “8,” referencing August 15th (Liberation Day), while its resemblance to the infinity sign (∞) visually conveys the enduring spirit of liberation.

Additionally, the four trigrams of Geon, Gon, Gam, and Ri are reimagined to resemble the hour and minute hands of a clock, pointing symbolically to 8:15. In the upper right corner, three of the five traditional Korean obangsaek colors (yellow, red, and blue) are featured to reflect the harmony of Korean traditional aesthetics and visually emphasize national identity and vitality.
